Sankei Kanko Co Ltd (Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto), which runs golf courses, announced Dec 27, 2013, that it has completed the constructions of two mega-solar (large-scale solar) power plants in Osaka and Hyogo Prefecture with an output power of about 1MW each and started operations of them.

They are Sankei Kanko's first mega-solar projects. Specifically, it installed 988.7kW and 994.7kW of solar power generation facilities in Ibaraki City, Osaka, and Sumoto City, Hyogo Prefecture, respectively. In addition, the company is currently building a 750kW solar power generation system in Kawaminami-chou, Miyazaki Prefecture, planning to start operation of the system in July 2014.

Sankei Kanko intends to actively expand and promote its renewable energy business in addition to the mega-solar business. As part of such efforts, it established Sankei Energy Corp (Chuo Ward, Osaka City) to more comprehensively engage in renewable energy businesses including a solar-sharing (solar power generation in farmland) business.
