The Nikkei Electronics Breakdown Team has obtained Sony's 11-inch OLED TV, XEL-1.

"Such a big box for an 11-inch TV," we thought aloud as we opened the box, only to find another box inside.

The black inner box has an extremely simple design, bearing only the words "SONY" and "OLED Digital TV XEL-1" in Japanese.

We took out the TV from the box. We carefully removed a black suede protection cover from the display screen. The display unit of OLED TV finally appeared.

After checking out the TV itself, we moved on to the accessories. The TV came with a remote control unit, a VHF/UHF coaxial antenna connection cable, an AC adapter, a cleaning cloth, a cover for the terminals on the back and an instruction manual.

We laid out what was in the box and the first thing we noticed was the slim remote control and the large AC adapter. The remote is only about 10mm thick. It looked like it was tailored to the slimness of the OLED TV. The adapter, measuring about 31mm in thickness, is slightly thicker than a circuit block of the tuner, etc located at the lower part of the TV main body.
