Energia Solution & Service Co (Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture), a subsidiary of The Chugoku Electric Power Company Inc, announced July 31, 2014, that it will build a 7.19MW solar power plant in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.

The plant, "ESS Fukuyama Solar Power Plant (tentative name)," will be constructed on the property that The Chugoku Electric Power owns in the "Next-generation Energy Park" in Minooki-chou, Fukuyama City. The company plans to start the construction in January 2015 and power generation in March 2016.

The solar panel and PV inverter employed for the plant are products of Mitsubishi Electric Corp and Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp (TMEIC), respectively. The expected amount of electricity generated by the plant is about 9,800,000kWh per year, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by about 2,700 households.

Energia Solution & Service has been engaged in various solar power generation businesses. It runs its own mega (large-scale) solar power plant and builds solar power plants on the properties of business offices to provide electricity to the offices (Sunlight On-site Power Generation Service).

Also, the company invested, together with the government of Hiroshima Prefecture and The Chugoku Electric Power, in a power generation business run by "Hiroshima Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) for Promotion of Renewable Energy" (See related article). Furthermore, it established a limited liability company (LLC) that runs solar power generation businesses, with another company.

The total capacity of those solar power plants in operation is about 8MW.
