Orvis to Build, Run Solar Plants in Yamaguchi, Hiroshima

Orvis Corp announced July 14, 2014, that it will build and run solar power plants in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and Sera-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.

The headquarters of Orvis is located in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It is a company that sells solar panels.

The solar power plant in Shunan City will be built on 15,000m2 of idled land that is owned by Orvis and adjacent to a golf course run by its subsidiary. Its output capacity will be 1MW. It is scheduled to start power generation in May 2015. The expected amount of electricity generated at the plant is 1,000,000kWh.

The plant in Sera-gun will have an output capacity of 320kW and be built on 5,100m2 of land owned by the company. The plant is expected to be completed in August 2015 and generate 300,000kWh of electricity per year.
