The PV inverters of Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp (TMEIC), which has the top share in the domestic market, are highly evaluated by many people.
"MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) that maximizes power generation capacity responding to sunlight and temperature, as well as the maximum efficiency under the rated output, is important for PV power generation systems," a major design and construction company said. "And TMEIC's PV inverters are superior in MPPT."
The current-voltage characteristics of solar batteries change from moment to moment depending on the amount of solar radiation and temperature. The MPPT function searches out the power point (current/voltage values) where power generation capacity is the highest in a short period of time and keeps track of the power point. And the performance of MPPT directly affects the power generation capacity. If tracking by the MPPT function is slow, conversion efficiency declines in the morning and evening, when sunlight and temperature tend to change rapidly, but TMEIC's PV inverters feature limited conversion loss in the morning and evening.
