Gestamp Solar to Build 31MW Solar Plant in Ibaraki

Gestamp Solar, a Spain-based solar power producer, announced June 30, 2014, that it will build a 31.6MW solar power plant on the site of a former golf course in Daigo-machi, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.

It will be the company's first mega (large-scale) solar power plant in Japan. The site measures 40ha. And the plant is scheduled to start operations by April 2015.

The construction cost will be provided by Deutsche Bank. Gestamp Solar concluded a nonrecourse construction loan contract (¥11.1 billion) with the Tokyo branch of Deutsche Bank, based on the international standards for project finance June 26, 2014.
