Mitsuoka Motor Co Ltd developed a mid-size hybrid sedan (HEV) and will release it June 27, 2014, in Japan.

The HEV, "Ryugi," is the company's first HEV. It was developed based on Toyota Motor Corp's Corolla Axio. The price of the HEV starts from ¥3.09 million (approx US$30,404, including tax).

Mitsuoka defines Ryugi as a vehicle positioned between its Viewt small-size sedan and Galue large-size sedan. The dimensions of Ryugi are 4,510 (L) 1,695 (W) x 1,460mm (H) (178 x 67 x 57 inches). Its wheel base and mass are 2,600mm and 1,150kg (2,535 pounds), respectively.

The gasoline engine of the HEV is the "1NZ-FXE" in-line four cylinder engine with a displacement of 1.5L. Its maximum output and torque are 54kW/4,800rpm and 111N·m/3,600-4,400rpm, respectively. The driving motor is the "1LM," whose maximum output and torque are 45(61)kW and 169N·m. The outputs and torques are the same as those of Corolla Axio.

Mitsuoka will also release a (two-wheeled) gasoline-engine model by combining the "1NZ-FE" in-line four cylinder engine with a displacement of 1.5L and a continuously-variable transmission (CVT) at a price of ¥2,214,000-2,928,960 (including tax).
