Obayashi Builds 21MW Solar Plant in Kumamoto

Obayashi Clean Energy Corp (Minato Ward, Tokyo), which is a 100% subsidiary of Obayashi Corp, completed the construction of a 21MW mega (large-scale) solar power plant in Ashikita-machi, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, April 22, 2014.

The total project cost is about ¥6.5 billion (approx US$63 million). The plant has an output capacity of 21.52MW and is the largest-scale solar power plant in the prefecture. All of the electricity generated at the plant will be sold to Kyushu Electric Power Co Inc. The amount of electricity generated will be equivalent to that used by 6,300 households.
