A ceremony to pray for the safe construction of Eurus Energy Holdings Corp's 8MW solar power plant took place in Fukushima Prefecture April 8, 2014.

The construction site of the plant, "Eurus Yabuki Nakajima Solar Park," is located in Yabuki-machi and Nakajima-mura, Nishishirakawa-gun, Fukushima Prefecture. The ceremony was carried out at the site and was attended by local concerned parties including the mayors of Yabuki-machi and Nakajima-mura as well as people involved in the construction.

Eurus Energy (Minato Ward, Tokyo) will install about 50,000 solar panels on about 28ha of land that straddles the border between Yabuki-machi and Nakajima-mura, aiming to start power generation in March 2015. For the plant, the company employed Kyocera Corp's solar panel and Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp's (TMEIC) PV inverter. Yonden Engineering Co Inc, an electrical equipment company affiliated with Shikoku Electric Power Co Inc, will provide EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services.

Electricity generated at the plant will be sold to Tohoku-Electric Power Co Inc. The plant is expected to generate an amount of electricity equivalent to that consumed by about 3,000 normal households and reduce CO2 emissions by about 5,500t per year.
