Ichigo Group to Build 43MW Solar Plant in Gunma

Ichigo Group Holdings Co Ltd announced that it will build a 43MW solar power plant in Showa-mura, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.

The construction and operation of the plant are scheduled to begin in October 2014 and April 2017, respectively. It will be one of the largest-scale solar power plants in the Kanto area of Japan. The total investment is expected to be about ¥13 billion (approx US$128 million). The plant is estimated to generate about 50,000MWh of electricity per year.

Ichigo Group expects a revenue of about ¥1.9 billion per year from electricity sales with a tariff of ¥36 (excluding tax) per 1kWh. Hitachi Ltd will provide EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services.
