The Society for Information Display (SID), an international academic society for display technologies, announced remarkable theses prepared for SID 2014 March 13, 2014 (US time).

SID 2014 is an academic conference that will take place from June 1 to 6, 2014, in San Diego, the US.

According to the announcement, Panasonic Corp developed an OLED device that emits white light with a brightness of 1,000cd/m2 and luminous efficiency of 132lm/W (lecture number: 47.4). It was realized by improving the company's light extraction technology.

At another lecture (47.3), Konica Minolta Inc will make an announcement about its phosphorescent material that emits blue light. The company announced March 4, 2014, that it had developed an OLED panel capable of emitting white light with a luminous efficiency of 131lm/W by using the phosphorescent material (See related article).
