Panasonic to Release Solar Panels for Folded-plate Roofs

Panasonic Corp Eco Solutions Company will expand the product line of its "HIT solar cell module" for public and industrial applications.

The company will release the "Large-size HIT Module HIT290A" and "High-strength HIT Module HIT120A" June 1 and July 1, 2014, respectively.

In regard to the Japanese market for solar power generation systems for public and industrial use, solar systems are being installed in various places such as commercial facilities and the rooftops of manufacturing plants, storehouses, office buildings and schools. As a result, there is a growing demand to increase power generation capacity in a limited area.

In response to such demands, Eco Solutions Company will expand the product line of the HIT solar cell module to help maximize power generation capacity in various public and industrial projects.

The Large-size HIT Module HIT290A enables to efficiently use space on folded-plate roofs, which are often used for manufacturing plants and storehouses, and is also suited to be installed on the ground. On the other hand, the High-strength HIT Module HIT120A has a high load capacity and can be installed even in high places such as on the roofs of high-rise buildings.

HIT290A
The size of the HIT290A is suited for a pitch of 500mm, which many folded-plate roofs have. The module can be efficiently installed with a narrow interval on a folded-plate roof having a pitch of 500mm. Also, it eliminates the need for rails, enabling to reduce installation time and costs of mounting systems. At the same time, it reduces the weight of a solar system and, thus, load on a roof.

HIT120A
The HIT120A has a high strength and withstands high wind load with its own frame design. Its load capacity is 6,000Pa for both wind and snow, according the standards set by Eco Solutions Company. There are holes on the frame of the solar cell module so that it does not fall. Moreover, it is attached to a mounting system with holes that support M8 bolts instead of M6 bolts.
