Citizen Electronics Co Ltd announced two models of the "CLL052" LED package with a color temperature of 5,000K.

One has a luminous efficiency as high as 161lm/W and a light flux of 12,750lm when the temperature and input power are 25°C and 79.1W, respectively. The luminous efficiency and light flux are much higher than those of the company's previous product (9,890lm, 120lm/W).

Citizen Electronics plans to start to ship the products in volume in December 2013. They will be exhibited at the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), which will take place from Oct 27 to 30, 2013, in Hong Kong.

The new LED package comes in two models, which are a high-efficiency model and high-color rendering index model. The luminous efficiency and color rendering index of the former are 161lm/W and 65 (standard, Ra) while those of the latter are 139lm/W and 80 (minimum, Ra). They have the same dimensions of 38.0 x 38.0 x 1.4mm and a structure that directly mounts LED elements on a substrate (COB: chip-on-board).

When a power of 170W is input to the high-efficiency model, a light flux of up to 23,549lm can be achieved. This is equivalent to the light flux of a 400W halogen lamp. The maximum light flux of the previous product was 17,675lm.
