ZTE Announces Smartphone Using 'Snapdragon 800' Processor

ZTE Corp announced Feb 25, 2013, the world's first smartphone equipped with the "Snapdragon 800," Qualcomm Inc's latest microprocessor, at Mobile World Congress 2013, which is one of the largest trade shows about mobile communications.

The company plans to release the phone, "Grand Memo," first in China and then in Europe.

The smartphone is equipped with a 5.7-inch 1,280 x 720-pixel TFT display. The capacity of its rechargeable battery is 3,200mAh. The Snapdragon 800 is a 1.5GHz quad-core processor.

Also, the phone has a 13-Mpixel camera on its back, 1 Gbyte of DRAM and 16 Gbytes of eMMC. Its wireless LAN capability supports the 5GHz band in addition to the 2.4GHz band.
