Japan Display Inc started volume production of a 10.1-inch 1,920 x 1,200-pixel LCD panel with a resolution of about 224ppi for tablet computers.

In February 2012, the company started to mass-produce a 7-inch 800 x 1,280-pixel LCD panel for tablet computers. This time, it prototyped a 9.0-inch 800 x 1,280-pixel LCD panel. Those LCD panels for tablet computers will be sold as the "ULMT (ultra light media tablet)" series.

The 10.1-inch panel uses the IPS mode as a display method. Its contrast ratio, thickness and weight are 800:1, 2.14mm and 130g, respectively. And its view angle is 178° in both the vertical and horizontal directions.

The three LCD panels will be exhibited at FPD International 2012, which will take place from Oct 31 to Nov 2, 2012, in Yokohama, Japan.
