Eizo Nanao Corp will start to release four monitors in the "RadiForce" series for displaying medical images Nov 1, 2011.

The new monitors use white LED backlight and feature long life, low power consumption and power saving function using a human presence sensor.

Eizo Nanao will release color and monochrome 3-Mpixel models and color and monochrome 2-Mpixel models. Their screen size is 21.3 inches except for the color 3-Mpixel model (21.2 inches).

This time, Eizo Nanao employed white LEDs for backlight instead of CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp), which the company uses for its existing hospital-use monitors. As a result, it became possible for the company to offer a five-year warranty for the new monochrome monitors and guarantee the recommended brightness of the color monitors for five years as long as they have been used for 20,000 hours or less.

Furthermore, Eizo Nanao reduced power consumption by about 21% compared with its existing monitors.

The new monitors will come with a human presence sensor that detects the user's movements for taking or leaving a seat. With this function, the monitors can be automatically switched between normal and power-saving modes.
