Tanita Corp developed a body composition meter-integrated weighing machine using an SD memory card and will release it in April 2010 in Japan.

The company employed an SD memory card so that the weighing machine can be used with a PC. Measured data is automatically recorded on an SD memory card that is installed with data management software, and chronological graphs can be drawn from the data.

"We considered whether an SD memory card or USB should be used," Tanita said. "But we decided to employ an SD memory card because it has higher resistance to taking out and putting in."
