Honda Motor Co Ltd, Nissan Motor Co Ltd and Mitsubishi Motors Corp disclosed that they are purchasing accelerator pedals for their vehicles from CTS Corp, which supplied the accelerator pedal recalled by Toyota Motor Corp.
Though the three companies did not reveal the names or the numbers of the vehicles equipped with an accelerator pedal manufactured by CTS, they said that they did not find any problem with those vehicles.
"The design and the material of our pedal are different from those of Toyota's," Honda said. "So, our vehicles do not have any trouble."
"As the design of our pedal is different, there is no trouble with our cars," Nissan said.
"Our pedal has a different shape, material and part number," Mitsubishi Motors said. "And we did not find any problem."
As for other Japanese automakers, Mazda Motor Corp, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd and Suzuki Motor Corp announced that their vehicles are not equipped with CTS's accelerator pedals.
