Honda Motor Co Ltd will release a home-use generator that uses a canister of liquefied butane as fuel in the spring of 2010.
The generator, "Enepo," is equipped with a sinewave inverter and has a rated power output of 900VA. It will be used with electric equipment that consumes a power of 900W or less. The other specifications of the generator have not been determined yet, according to Honda Motor.
The product concept of the Enepo is to easily generate power outdoors at any time. The company expects that it will be used as a back-up power supply in case of a power failure, a charger for electric power tools and a power source for gardening tools.
