The 52-inch model of the "Real MZW" LCD TV series features enhanced sound and image quality.
Mitsubishi Electric Corp announced Aug 19, 2009, nine new audio-visual products including LCD TVs with a built-in Blu-ray Disc (BD)/HDD recorder and enhanced sound and image quality.
The new products will be released in sequence from Sept 15, 2009, in Japan.
Mitsubishi Electric unveiled five models of its "Real" LCD TV series including 37-inch and 32-inch models of the "BHR" series, which is aimed at middle-class consumers.
The new Real BHR LCD TVs are equipped with a built-in BD/HDD recorder and targeted at users who are not good at setting up audio-visual equipment, the company said. They are the world's first LCD TVs equipped with a built-in BD/HDD recorder, it said.
The capacity of the HDD is 320 Gbytes. The expected street prices are ¥250,000 (approx US$2,651) for the 37-inch model and about 200,000 for the 32-inch model.
Also, Mitsubishi Electric announced 52-, 46- and 40-inch models of the high-end "MZW" series. They feature enhanced sound and image quality for those who are particular about sound and those who love movies, the company said.
To improve the sound quality, the new MZW TVs are equipped with large capacity speakers. The capacity of the speakers is 5.9L for the 52-inch model, 4.1L for the 46-inch model and 3.3L for the 40-inch model. The capacity of the speakers for the 46-inch model is about 10 times higher than that for the company's previous 46-inch model.
In addition, they feature the "Diatone HD" technology, which predicts and interpolates high-frequency and phase information that is lost by compressing audio data of a digital broadcast content. And they use the "Diamond Panel," an LCD panel with enhanced luster, improving the contrast ratio to 20,000:1.
Furthermore, the new MZW TVs feature a super-resolution technology, the "Diamond HD," which generates images with resolutions higher than those of input signals. The expected street prices are ¥350,000 for the 52-inch model, ¥300,000 for the 46-inch model and ¥200,000 for the 40-inch model.
Along with the new LCD TVs, Mitsubishi Electric announced three new models of its "Real Blu-ray" BD recorder series including the "DVR-BZ330" and "DVR-BZ230," whose layout of remote's buttons was renovated to improve their usability. The capacities of the built-in HDDs are 1 Tbyte for the DVR-BZ330 and 500 Gbytes for the DVR-BZ230.
The DVR-BZ330 has a function to enhance image quality by a super-resolution technology and supports the "acTVila" VoD service. The company also announced the "DVR-BV530," a BD recorder integrated with a video tape recorder. The expected street prices are ¥180,000 for the DVR-BZ330, ¥140,000 for the DVR-BZ230 and ¥120,000 for the DVR-BV530.
Furthermore, Mitsubishi Electric revealed the "LVP-HC6800" liquid-crystal projector. Its luminance is 1,300lm, which is 1.6 times higher than that of the previous model. The company enhanced the luminance efficiency of the light source lamp and increased the aperture ratio of the LCD panel by 20%. The expected street price of the projector is ¥250,000.
