4K2K LCD Monitor to Debut in Surgery Room
Eizo Nanao Corp will release July 1, 2009, the "RadiForce LS560W," an LCD monitor that has a 56-inch screen with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and is intended for use in operating rooms.
Currently, it is common to use multiple monitors for displaying various medical images. The new product was developed so that multiple monitors can be replaced by a single monitor. Nanao cited the following two advantages of using one monitor to display multiple images.
- Working efficiency will improve because users do not have to be concerned about variations in the display properties (hue, etc) of multiple monitors.
- Visibility will improve because users are not bothered by frames between the monitors.
Also, Nanao will release a package that includes the "LMM 56800," an interface unit that inputs video signals to the LCD monitor. The interface unit accepts inputs of 24 types of signals. Each of the images can be displayed on any part of the monitor in an arbitrary size.
The LCD panel provides a 176° field of view, both vertically and horizontally. The contrast ratio is 1,200:1, and the luminance is 450cd/m2.
Nanao regards the medical market as an important market in its "Third Midterm Business Plan."
