Moritex Corp developed a bar-shaped LED lamp, "SpectraTrue." With a high color rendering property, it can precisely reproduce the colors of products and showpieces, according to the company.
The SpectraTrue comes in 12 types with lengths ranging from 150 to 1,800mm. The diameter of the lamp is 20mm for all types. Moritex developed the lamp in cooperation with Schott AG of Germany, its parent company.
Schott has already released a bar-shaped LED, but the SpectraTrue is smaller than it by 30% in diameter.
The power consumption of the SpectraTrue is 1.7W for the smallest 150mm type, while it is 19.1W for the largest 1,800mm type. The price is expected to range from ¥40,000 (approx US$431) to 60,000. Moritex did not disclose the evaluated value of the color rendering property.
The company intends to produce 500 units in 2009 and 2,000 units in 2011. The products will be distributed by Schott, mainly in the EU for the time being. They will be distributed in Japan by Schott Japan, the Japanese arm of Schott.
