LG Display Deploying LCD Panels in Korean Subways

LG Display Co Ltd began to gradually replace LED digital bulletin boards for train information with LCD panels on the platforms of Seoul Metropolitan Subway's Lines 1, 3 and 4.

The company said it is planning to install 2,500 LCD panels at 67 locations by the end of September 2008.

LG Display is installing 32- and 42-inch LCD panels. The panels will display various kinds of information in addition to the destinations of trains.

The company is also planning to set up 4,000 units of its 42-inch LCD digital signage devices at GS25 convenience stores in Korea within 2008. In addition, it installed its 52-inch digital signage devices at major soccer stadiums in Europe at the beginning of 2008, it said.

LG Display will also introduce 42-, 47- and 52-inch multi-touch screens, as well as a 47-inch triple-view display and other products in the same series into the market from now.
