Asked which costs they prefer to curtail if they use a smartphone, most (60.7%) said "monthly network access fees." Next was "unit price" at 26.1%, while "monthly charges for phone calls" took the lowest position at 13.2%.

In addition, asked how often they use mobile data communications for business, 13.0% said "frequently," 16.0% said "sometimes," 34.1% said "rarely" and 36.9% said "never." Respondents who use mobile data communications "rarely" or "never" for business totaled 71.0%, reflecting the fact that mobile data communications are not generally used for business.

iSHARE also asked if they "feel that the number of people carrying two mobile terminals will increase as a result of the expansion of the smartphone market." Roughly 30% of all respondents said "Yes," more than 10% that said "No, it will decrease" as consumers will integrate their needs in one terminal. As for reasons why people will carry two mobile terminals, 49.6% said "to separate business and private use."

Based on this result, as well as the low frequency of mobile phone use for data communications for business and the fact that the majority of respondents wanted to limit monthly network access fees, the two mobile phones to be carried in the future are likely to be a business-use mobile phone primarily for voice calls and a private-use smartphone, which is sometimes used for data communications, iSHARE explained.
