SoftBank Mobile Corp announced June 4, 2008, that it made a contract with Apple Inc and will sell iPhones in Japan within 2008.
Currently, the iPhone supports only GSM and cannot be used in Japan. But a new iPhone supporting 3G will allegedly be announced at Worldwide Developers Conference 2008, which will take place in San Francisco from June 9 to 13, 2008. SoftBank Mobile will release this new iPhone in the Japanese market.
