Verizon Wireless and Kyocera Wireless Corp have announced the immediate availability of the Kyocera KPC680 ExpressCard with CDMA2000 1x Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Rev A technology.

Expanding on Verizon Wireless's launch of the KPC650 1x EV-DO Rev 0 PC Card in 20005, the KPC680 ExpressCard delivers increased productivity and maximized performance. The KPC680 ExpressCard is optimized for Verizon Wireless's Rev A network and operates with the company's BroadbandAccess service.

Providing average download speeds of 600kbps to 1.4Mb and average upload speeds of 500-800kbps, BroadbandAccess allows customers in Rev A coverage areas to download a 1MB e-mail attachment -- the equivalent of a small PowerPoint presentation or a large PDF file -- in as few as eight seconds and upload the same-sized file in as few as 13 seconds.

The KPC680 features an antenna design that moves the antenna away from the device as it is opened, providing greater sensitivity, dual external antenna ports for signal flexibility, and a compact form factor.
