Windbond Electronics Corp America has introduced a new USB audio controller series, W681306 and W681307. W681306 is said to be the world¡Çs first highly integrated IC for building a PSTN and USB interface dual mode phone or gateway application, integrating a standard fast 8-bit 8051 microcontroller featuring a PSTN port with caller ID and DTMF tone support. Standard features include a USB 1.1 interface port and PCM bus to support other voice and audio devices in a single chip package. Integrated with a 4-channel PCM mixer for conference applications, W681386 is an SPI interface for external serial flesh and LCD module support.
The W681307 is described as the world¡Çs first USB controller for the VolP market, with a 16 bit ADC/DAC and digital AEC/AGC to support USB speaker phone applications in a single chip packages. Such design helps to minimize board space and result in lowest bill of materials (BOM) costs in the industry for PC-based VolP applications. The W681307 includes an integrated microphone amplifier, earphone amplifier, SPI interface for external serial flash and LCD module support.
The two chips, available in 100-pin LQFP lead-free packages, are designed for PC-Based VOlP applications targeting USB handset, USB speaker phone, PSTN/USB dual mode phone, USBP/TSN gateway and USB analog telephone adapters (ATA).
