Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. will release cyclone vacuum cleaner products, which only require the filter to be washed every six years. According to the company, combining a filter system using tissue paper, seen in its products released in and after 2004, and a newly introduced lever to shake off dusts on the filter in the latest products, users do not need to wash the filter for up to six years. The products will be launched onto the market on September 1, 2005, with the highest model priced at ¥67,200.
In this filter system, a tissue is set in front of the filter so it catches small pieces of trash and dust before they reach the filter. For this, any standard-type tissues are available. Thanks to this system, the filter of the previous model released in September 2004 did not require washing for more than a year. The newly introduced lever works to shake off dust on the filter before trashing out what is inside the cleaner. The filter is multi-folded porous ethylene resin tetrafluoride, and designed to vibrate off the dust when the lever is moved. Combination of usage of the lever and the system using a tissue set in front of the filter extended the period for which users are free from washing the filter to as long as six years. Sanyo, however, recommends to change the set tissue every time before starting cleaning.
