Toyota Motor Corp. has announced the development of the SRS Twin-chamber Airbag featuring a newly designed shape designed to disperse the force of the impact on the passengers. Upon deployment, this new airbag can impact multiple surfaces including the passenger's head and shoulders.

The twin bags of the new airbag form a notch in the center and disperse the impact force on the human body. Conventional airbags when deployed typically deliver the impact to certain areas. The new airbag will be mounted on the passenger seat in new Lexus brand models to be launched this summer.
