Gunei Ltd completed a solar power plant with an output of about 5.4MW in Tomiwaka-cho, Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, and started full operation of the plant in December 2017.

Gunei (Ota City, Gunma Prefecture) is a company that designs and installs facilities. The mega (large-scale) solar power plant, "Ota City Tomiwaka-cho Solar Power Plant," is expected to generate 7,150,000kWh of electricity per year.

On about 6ha of land, a total of 20,720 solar panels were installed in four construction periods. The total capacity of solar panels installed on the four areas is 5.3872MW, and the plant transmits 4.25MW of electricity to a power grid.

The solar panel and PV inverter employed for the plant are products of Renesola Ltd and Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp (TMEIC), respectively. The four areas started operation one by one from July 2016.

Gunei is responsible for EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) and O&M (operation and maintenance) services for the plant. The company also owns mega solar plants in Midori City (Gunma Prefecture), Yaita City (Tochigi Prefecture), etc.

Based on such experience, Gunei proposes to its customers that they build mega solar plants. It also provides services such as maintenance, 24-hour remote monitoring and collection/analysis of data on the amount of power sold.
