Canadian Solar's solar panel, TMEIC's PV inverter
JAG Energy Co Ltd (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), which is affiliated with Japan Asia Group Ltd, announced April 18, 2017, that it has performed a ceremony to celebrate the completion of a mega (large-scale) solar power plant in Hishida, Osaki-cho, Soo-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
The plant, "Hishida Solar Way," was built on 55,169m2 of privately-owned idled land. The total capacity of solar panels installed at the plant is about 2.7MW, and the plant transmits 1.99MW of electricity to a power grid.
The annual amount of electricity planned to be generated at the plant is equivalent to the annual amount consumed by 860 households. All the electricity generated at the plant is sold to Kyushu Electric Power Co Inc.
Toko Electrical Construction Co Ltd provided EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services for the plant. The solar panel and PV inverter employed for the plant are products of Canadian Solar Inc and Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp (TMEIC) (three 500kW and one 490kW PV inverters), respectively.
The power producer of the plant is JAG Energy, and JAG Power Engineering Co Ltd is responsible for O&M (operation and maintenance) after the start of operation.
