
Cable&Wireless Worldwide's India business recorded 35% growth in new customer business in H1 2009, as compared to H1 2008. In the first six months of 2009, the company added several new enterprise customers, and grew its business with existing customers such as Bharti, Tata and Mphasis. On the carrier side business, the company made inroads into other emerging markets such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan and secured a significant deal with Sri Lanka Telecom. Cable&Wireless has increased its workforce so far in 2009 by 15%, and has close to 150 customers in India across a broad range of verticals including financial services, IT (BPO), retail, BFSI and healthcare. The company has recently announced several value-added network propositions to its customers in India, including managed IP-voice, bandwidth connect, managed video conferencing and security solutions.
