1st Silicon is a pure-play wafer foundry with a 200mm CMOS fabrication facility in Kuching, Malaysia, capable of 0.25micron and 0.18micron, to be followed by 0.13micron, wafer processing. FTD Technology and its subsidiaries are design solution providers of analog-mixed signal system design services and IP.
FTD Technology CEO, P Bala, expressed enthusiasm for the joint marketing and technical support agreement between the two companies."Both FTD and 1st Silicon have many exciting details to pursue early in 2002," he said. "Both companies will select the IP cores to be designed onto a 1st Silicon testchip. We will coordinate the development, performance characterization, design flow verifications and functional verifications of FTD cores based on 1st Silicon's testchip layout and test plans, their Spice models, library and 1st Silicon's design rules."
